3- The quest

Fanart

Kasumi woke up slowly… Distantly, she could hear a river flowing where she lay. It’s damp up there…
The young lady stood up and stretched, but when she wanted to put a hand in her hair, she realized that she didn’t have hair anymore… and that she was floating in water.

- A fish?!! I became a fish, not even a mermaid!! She frowned.

Kasumi took inventory of all the transformation her body sustained:

- So, I haven’t feet anymore but blue flippers, I have some flesh excrescences on my arms that look like blue fin, and I’m naked… Oh-my-god!!

~*~

Denchu started to wake up as well. When she stood up, she caught the eyes of a handsome blond Hylian.

- At last, you arouse!
- Eeerrrr…
- Well, we don’t have lost too much time, but it will soon turn dark and I don’t like to stay on the plain at night.
- Link?
- At your service, beautiful Hylian, Link saluted, bowing down.
- Hylian? Denchu had some difficulties to connect with “reality”. Ok, ok, but tell me, if you’re Link, where is your little blue pixy? And what form does this quest take?
- I don’t know, I’ve lost sight of Navi and I was looking for her. But concerning your presence here… Princess Zelda appeals to you, didn’t she? While you were sleeping, I heard about the quests you’ve accomplished.
- Eeerrr, wait a sec’, I’m going to meditate…

Denchu picked up and started to think. So, we all were playing to the Nintendo, and… and… ARE THEY MY EARS?!!
Link seemed perplex, but let Denchu in her “meditation”.

After a deep diagnostique, Denchu noticed two long elf ears, more precisely Hylian ears, a yellow tunic, brown boots, a quiver full of arrows and a bow.

Then, after considering her new position in society, she took a big breath and whistle under the stunned look of Link.

- Nope… that doesn’t work!
- Sorry to interrupt, but what are you doing?
- I’m calling my horse, of course!
- … Link still looked at her, dumbfounded.
- What is he waiting for?!
- I… er… I don’t think you ride a horse.
- That must be it. Well, I see only one solution: I’m riding with you! And I will be more than useful because I know this country, its traps and its secrets like the back of my hand!
- Shall we go, then?
- Under one condition!
- Oh, which one? Link seemed embarrassed. I don’t have a lot of rubies…
- Oh no, don’t speak about money, I just want you to stop with your affected manners! Denchu said while settling behind Link. Aaaaah, what a wonderful dream… If Deshi knew I was laying against my chest against one of the most handsome video game boys…

After having galloped for a while, Denchu proposed Link to have a break near the Lake Hylia. A pixy should be there to give them energy.

Our little fish was wading in her big pond and she resolved to believe that all this mess was a dream… A dream that wasn’t that bad considering all the rubies and emeralds she could find everywhere in this world and that she stocked on a sea-cliff recess.
On the other hand, she caught sight of people that had the same pedigree, and she even bandied with a local. That’s how she knew she belonged to the Zora people.

Zora’s ritual consisted in honouring Jabu-Jabu and his unending belly, during the days preceding the full moon. Kasumi, in order to live up to the tradition to her new adopted people, participated in the game.

- Hello there! A Zora her age welcomed her.
- Oh, good afternoon… Kasumi replied politely.

The young girl started to laugh:

- That’s what I thought! You’re new here!
- Well, yes… It’s not that difficult to guess…
- It’s surprising that I didn’t see you before, because Zora people only live here and I didn’t know that some live over the mountains… Where do you come from and what’s your name?
- I’m Kasumi, and I come from… well how to say… another planet! Kasumi succeeded to explain. And you, what’s your name?
- Oops, sorry, I forget the good manners! I’m Princess Ruto, daughter of King Zora who rules this country.
- Er-oh-ah-er well, Nice to meet you, Princess Ruto! Kasumi answered awkwardly diving at her feet by way of prostration.
- No use to put on airs with me, Ruto burst out laughing. But tell me, when you arrived, didn’t you met a nice blond young men, Hylian race?
- Are you talking about…Link…? Kasumi asked, concisely remembering Satoshi’s stories she started to regret not having followed them.
- Yeeeeeees, in person!!! Don’t you know we are getting married? He promised to be my husband when I’m in age to be a queen! And it won’t take long anymore, I’m just waiting for my dear Link!
- Uh-huh, Kasumi approved, convinced that it was just a dream… She might have passed too much time in front of the Nintendo and fell asleep.

As the ceremony was about to start, a horse whinnied and called attention to him.

- Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiink!! You came back, you kept your promise!

Ruto ran over her fearless knight the best her palmed feet could carry her.

- Backward, it’s a wrong way from here, Link said to Denchu.
- Holy crap, I forgot her!
- You know her too?
- Oh… She kept me occupied when I had to find her in the belly of this obese fish they venerate…
- So do you?!!

Ruto stopped when she saw the beautiful Hylian behind Link.

- Good afternoon… I didn’t have the pleasure to meet you on my territory, Ruto said solemnly.
- Good afternoon, Ruto. Don’t you remember Denchu? It seems that she passed to sa… OUCHH!! It hurts!
- Sorry, Link… Indeed, Princess, I never saw you, but I’ve heard a lot about your *whims* feats!
- The pleasure is all mine… But tell me, are you Link’s companion?
- No! Not at all, Denchu accompanies me and she is very useful in my quest! Moreover, it’s her who suggests making a roundabout way to meet with the guardian pixie living here.
- Oh, I see… Ruto said, hanging her head.
- And to come and visit you, Princess! Link added quickly.

As the conversation went along, Kasumi decided to check who those newcomers were talking to Ruto.
While she approached, they looked familiar to her, without remembering where she could have met them.

- Oh, what a distracted Zora I am, let me introduce Kasumi, who comes from another planet and who came to assist to the ceremony in honour of Jabu-Jabu!
- KASUMI?!!
- DENCHU!!
- Oh… It seems that you already know each other, Ruto said, looking at Denchu and Kasumi at the same time. You came from the same planet, then?
- Planet?! The Earth, you mean? Denchu noticed.
- Probably… I don’t know the whole galaxy and I ignored that she was ever populated with other creatures.
- Kasumi, what I’ll ask is important: have you met with the others?
- No, I thought I was alone, and that I was dreaming… And I’m still thinking that I’m dreaming…Nice ears, by the way!
- Thank you, I love your clothes too… Very… err… hand-to-hand!
- Men, I forgot!! Kasumi yelled as she dove into the lake. I’m sorry, but I won’t follow you under-dressed like that! I think its better waiting for you here!
- Gutless! Link teased, as he bucked up with the girls.
- You, the anxious, we aren’t looking for advice. You have a lot to learn about women! Denchu reproached him.
- I, on the other hand, am looking for something I asked seven years ago, Ruto reminded him.
- Yeah, but if I could interfere, Princess, Link has a very important mission from Princess Zelda herself. You’ll schedule the date of your wedding next time!

Ruto seemed upset but she didn’t answer back.

- Well, Princess Ruto, I say my farewells to you, we still have a long road waiting for us to visit the guardian pixie!
- I understand! Ruto sighed, but at least I met a delightful friend, and a redoubtable warrior.
- Thank you for the compliment, Denchu answered back proudly. On the road again for adventure!
- Excuse-me?
- Nothing, Link, let’s go…

After being boosted, Denchu and Link decided to go to the feminist world of the Gerudos. This barren dale was populated by women, formidable thieves who couldn’t bear being governed by a man, and thus, it was a man from their country who ruled the maleficent power.

- I won’t have any difficulties to travel into the region; I can easily pretend to be an archer who comes here to train for the archery contest.
- Indeed… Link was thinking about his case.
- And I can make a feinting manoeuvre so that you can enter without drawing attention to you. However, for the archery contest, I’ll need your horse.
- All right, but wave me when the road is clear. I hope you don’t mind the use of my weapons.
- On women who protect her territory?!! No way! They are not enemies, and she might become great allies, especially Nabooru!
- This name isn’t familiar to me.
- You’ll meet her soon enough. Anyway, be ready.

Denchu went through the gate without any difficulties. Gerudos were turned on by the purse Denchu was wearing on her belt… But only one took the risk to steal it. Our Hylian saw it in time and she vividly turned back while taking her bow, the string ready under her fingers, and the arrow pointed on the pickpocket. But this one was also fast… With a graceful movement, she took the two swords she wore on her belt and put it in front of her as a shield, to protect her nice face from the sharp arrow.

- Don’t move if you care about your life. I don’t want to harm any of you; I just want to participate to the archery contest.
- You seem very audacious to face the Gerudos in bow and arrow, Denchu!

When she slowly retired the sword from her face, Denchu recognized her childhood friend:

- Deshi!! But… But how come…
- I’m tanned, am I not?
- Geez! And your hair!
- Red as blood!
- And your clothes…
- Sexy, isn’t it? Haven’t you seen Toya, by any chance?

Fanart

The Gerudos worried while they heard her congener talk about a man.

- My friends, let me introduce you to Denchu, an outstanding archery who came to defend the right to… withdraw her purse! Deshi said to her fellow.
- Hey! My purse!!!
- Have you noticed how much I earn in agility?
- You did have, you were just clumsy…
- Yes, but it’s all the men’s fault: we are thrown by them.
- I see you’ve integrated Gerudo’s way of life, Denchu said as a joke, waiting in vain for her purse.
- I conform little by little, but, Toya is still here and I have to take a little revenge. So, let’s see your archery skills!
- No problem, but I’ll recover my purse and the two hundred rubies promised.
- He he… you’ve integrated Hylian’s culture too! You show firmness and bravery.
- Did you have doubt about it?
- No, you’ve always been like that… Beware, your fly is open! Deshi said, pointing her finger on Denchu’s chest.
- WHAT?! I… pff, it’s not a laughing matter, those are my Hylian clothes.
- Yep, I noticed and that contrast with your usual style, where I knew you less Amazon and more…dressed! By the way, nice earrings!
- Thank you for those compliments, Denchu said touching her new pierced ears. I need to talk about an important subject after!
- Ok, but don’t worry I’m on your side and on Link’s one… I just can’t wait to see him!!!!
- Yes, I saw him, Denchu whispered.
- REALLY?!! WHERE IS HE?!!
- Not so loud! Don’t forget that men aren’t welcome here.
- All right, Deshi whispered, but I’m part of the team from now on!
- I’ve hoped you would say that! Denchu approved.

Of course, Denchu won the tournament, but her purse and the two hundred rubies were given to Deshi who claimed herself as Denchu’s personal bank – where the jewelleries were the safest – But without the interest… Denchu thought. The evening was just starting but there was a chill in the air and the amber colours gave an old western look to the valley. Guards were shifting in the surveillance.

- We decided to meet at the desert railings.
- But… There’s a guard up there! She never leaves her post!
- Really? Change of plan, let’s meet in jail! Tell me… have you got a rope?
- Yeah, I can rob one easily!

Denchu had a grin in front of such casual manner and innocence in Deshi’s sentence.

- Well, at least we won’t run out of anything with you.
- Certainly… So, a rope…

Deshi had found easily a rope she gave to her friend. Denchu hung it to an arrow and tightened her bow to the dormer window in which no bars were put because of its height.
The arrow drove in the beam without a sound, but Denchu hesitated. Will the arrow resist to her weight? She pulled it and the arrow came out from the wood.

- I’ll try to knock the arrow into the beam a little more and I need your help to help me to bend the bow.
- All right, but tell me exactly what you want me to do… I don’t want to break it!
- You will pull my arm as much as you can… Ready?
- Go!

The very moment where they would fire the arrow, a popping came out from the window. She stopped aiming and lowered the bow to concentrate on the noise.
That’s when Link appeared on the dormer.

- Is everybody here? He asked.
- Well, at least, we know he can make his own way, Deshi pointed out to her friend.
- Yes… But I’ve lost an arrow and I’ve completely slacked the rope of my bow… Tssss.

Our three partners were gone for the Gerudo desert which was a dreadful adversary. After a few the sandstorms and other shifting sands, they could arrive in front of the Spirit temple, where a new rival was waiting to be destroyed.
Once arrived in front of the temple, the noticed that the main entrance was blocked by a heavy stone, and the other one – if it was one – only permit Kokiris (dwarves elves) to go through.

- I need to come back in time!
- Certainly not! We can’t teleport with you and we would be blocked here for seven years! Denchu refused.
- What do you suggest?
- To meet in the valley where we left Epona and to go to Kokiri village to ask for help. I’m sure we’ll meet someone would be glad to help, no?
- Indeed… Saria would, but she became the Sage of Forest and she can’t move from her place.
- But all Kokoris aren’t like Mido!
- Luckily! Link added quickly.
- Well… I will search for a horse, ‘cause I don’t think Epona can support three people on her back, Deshi said to take part in the conversation.

Everyone agreed on the fact to look for a Kokiri and reward him with Jewels – that Deshi will take in the sequel –. Our friends went back to Gerudo dale and Deshi decided that it would be safer to let her companions at the entrance and come back with the mounts.
All went without mishap and the Gerudo were leisurely walking with two splendid horses: one were brown and spirited, the other were white and quiet.

- You’ll go with Louxor and I take Cuddle! Deshi said without hesitation.
- Of course… Denchu answered.
- I didn’t go horse-riding like you!
- But aren’t you supposed to live in a valley of great horsewoman thieves? Denchu asked with a little smile.
- That’s why I’m keeping your purse, remember? Deshi answered with mischief.

Meanwhile, Link was fitting out the horses without paying attention to the girls, but a sentence had drawn his attention.

- Princess Zelda is sure a lucky girl to be loved by such a man! Later, I want one like that, who would prepare my car so that I can sit comfortably! Deshi said.
- Am I the one you’re talking about? I mean, a Gerudo talking about man?
- Don’t go to any trouble, young man, I’m a Gerudo but also a young lady who isn’t unmoved by a caring man.
- I-I just prepare the horses to gain time.
- Why don’t you admit that you did it for gallantry? Denchu asked, riding Louxor.
- Because it’s natural, I mean I have to protect you as I look after me.
- Aaaaw, you’re so cute, I must admit it. It becomes scarce nowadays, and I know what I’m talking about, Deshi said. What do you think of Princess Zelda?
- Here we are! You’re in good hands, Link. Deshi is skilful for feelings!

At first, the young Hylian was ill at ease, but on second thought, he found that time flied with his two new allies. Hyrule field had never seemed that small. They cross it in few time and in the end, Link wasn’t reluctant anymore to express his feelings about the Princess, moreover as he talked about her with a Gerudo, a feminist who totally agreed with his thought! Denchu punctuated the tale with some anecdotes that turned her into a more sensible woman.

- It’s a princess, and I’m just a Hylian. I would obey with pleasure to satisfy her. It’s a great friend and I hope that she esteems me as much as I esteem her.
- You didn’t evolve that much on this aspect… That’s true, you never live those seven past years, and that’s normal to be quite… immature, Denchu said. And what are your true feelings about the Princess?
- I don’t know, she might have changed and I would like to meet her again… I mean to be sure that she is all right.
- Do you think that Toya worries about me? Deshi asked to Denchu.
- Surely as much as Takeshi worries about me…
- Oh, you both have a companion?
- We can’t say companion, but close friends. For sure, I would have been more than a friend for Toya, at least if I was esteems as a close friend… And you, why did you blush when Link ask if we had a boyfriend?
- Yo-you misunderstood, Deshi, it’s really hot in that valley… Denchu faltered. I just thought at that time when I had my first lover, when I was seven. It was a cute boy who offered me a flower and confessed his love the day of my birthday!
- You never told me! What was his name?
- Damian… Here we are: Kokiri village!
- Great, let’s leave our horses in the field; we can call them with Epona’s song.

When they came in the village, they discovered an unusual whirl in the air… Mido had to defend his headman place in front of a bad-tempered Kokiri.

- Good evening, people from the forest! Link greeted.
- Yo, who the hell you are? And who are they? Mido asked, cutting shortly the flustered Kokiri.

Denchu answered:

- This is not the way you talk to a personal Knight of Princess Zelda…
- Princess Zelda hires women, now? Mido asked, with scepticism.
- They are precious allies, Mido…Deshi answered. By the way, isn’t it Saria who is the Sage of Forest?

Mido pulled himself together when he understood the harm he did to Princess Zelda.

- Please accept my apologies for this mistake, it’s just that I have a bunch of problems here… No, in fact I have one main problem: a Kokiri, unknown from the village, pretends being Link and want to search for the Medallions and ocarina of time… But I used to know Link, even if I wasn’t really good to him… I kind of regret him, and we miss his bravery and generosity…
- Who is this main problem, Mido? Link asked.
- Him.

Mido didn’t seem to recognize Link… Indeed, seven years had passed and Link turned out to be a Hylian, raised by Kokiris. He had the faculty of growing up, ability that Kokiris hadn’t.
Mido exposed his problem: the dark haired Kokiri maintained to be Link, and trotted out to who wanted to hear the adventure story of him fetching the ancestral stones: how he defeated Gohma to take back the Kokiri’s Emerald, how he would delivered Goron people of Dodongo, and how he became the brother of Goron headman who gave him the Goron’s Ruby, and last but not least, how he relieved Jabu-Jabu from Zora’s Sapphire.

- Thanks to those stones, I seize the Master sword and I crossed time!
- Where is your Light Medallion? Denchu asked.
- I… Someone stole it to me!
- Young Kokiri, I trust you, Deshi confided. And I need your help to go to the Spirit temple. Would you give us the pleasure of joining us… Link?

The Kokiri didn’t have to be begged, and hurried to join the one who were mad enough to believe him. The real Link had hanged back when he heard someone usurped his identity.
Her two allies surrounded the presumptuous Kokiri and went back to the valley, which eased Mido who didn’t have to convince his people not to follow this audacious boy. Link followed her by far.
Once arrived to Hyrule field, Link started singing Epona’s song and the three horses came instantaneously.

- Well, well, well, it seems that your eyes are in your pocket, Satoshi… Would that be your pride that prevents you from seeing properly the things that surround you? Deshi mocked.
- Who are you to know my name? I didn’t even tell you!
- I must admit that it’s quite difficult to recognize her the way she is dressed, but you could have guessed who I am! Denchu said.

~*~

- De-Denchu?
- Well, it took you half an hour to recognize me… So, by deduction, did you guess who the Gerudo is?
- … Nabooru, of course!!!
- Well, thanks for the compliments, handsome, but I’m not Nabooru. It’s me, Deshi!
- What the… But you’ve completely changed!
- Err, not at all, with some sun bed sessions and red hair colour, I would look like that! And so do you… You look… younger.
- It’s not brain surgery to understand that he is in exact adequacy with his mental age! Denchu continued. I’m starting to think that there is a little bit of our personality in each character we play!
- Didn’t understand, Satoshi sighed.
- You mean… I am a kleptomaniac? Deshi worried.
- Oh, you know, your kleptomania follows your belly… Once you’ve eaten your four Nutella pots, you don’t hesitate to take in ours, Denchu reasoned her.
- I would have thought about the feminist part… The Gerudo mumbled.

Link, still behind, had given up the hope to understand Deshi and Denchu’s chit-chat. Satoshi started to understand the identity of the man who walked near Deshi and Denchu.

- And him, it’s not… He whispered.
- LIIIINK?! Denchu called.
- Yes I am, young Kokiri, the one you pretend to be!

Satoshi slid down Cuddle and bowed down before Link.

- Oh, great and brave Link, you’ll be forever my favourite hero! Please accept my apologies for pretending to be you!
- Geez, I would forgive him easily if he acted like that in the boarding school! Deshi whispered to Denchu.
- Well, I’m quite surprised to be a hero… But thanks, it’s encouraging!
- And where are we going exactly? Satoshi enquired. Really in the Spirit temple?
- Yes! Denchu answered.
- Oh yeaaaaah!! I didn’t do this level!!
- I’m not sure it’s delightful to replay this level…I don’t remember all the hurdles. Denchu worried out loud.

Once arrived to the Spirit temple, they figured out that the desert wasn’t as hard as expected, compared to Satoshi’s excitation that couldn’t stop talking.

- I don’t think that was a good idea… We better have wait seven years… Deshi sighed.
- Seriously… I’ve never thought that one day I could meet someone who can talk more than you! Denchu teased.
- At least, I’m easy-going, and a way less susceptible than Satoshi… But it’s true, I didn’t know him like that!
- I think that when he has a videogame in his hand, he stop talking.
- How cursed we are! We have fallen in his universe!

Satoshi succeeded without difficulties to pass into the orifice of the temple. Once inside of the room, he discovered the silver gauntlet in a little chest, and gave it to Link when he came out.

- It will help you to move the big stone which block the main entrance! Satoshi said proudly.

Link wears pulled on the gauntlet and headed toward the block they could hardly move a minute ago. He succeeded to move it in a effort growl that quiver with pleasure Deshi and Denchu.
Once they all get inside, and after few steps, they were stuck again by a gap.

- My grapple is useless…There are no possible hooks, and even if one existed it would be too far… But there must be a solution! Link exasperated.
- I KNOW!! How could I forget that… Link; tell me, have you been to the Shadow temple? Denchu asked.
- No… I met you once my mission at the Water temple was done, and after having been teleport from the Forest temple.
- Here is the solution! You have to go first to the Shadow temple! And we must find something that can suit for the Spirit temple! Deshi continued.
- Tell me… have we got enough Bombchus? Satoshi asked.
- No, I don’t have anymore, we have to buy some! Link answered feeling his pockets. Then he turned back to the Gerudo: Deshi… my purse…
- No, no no! We have to keep the rubies for important purchase! Tell me, how many Skulltulas have you?
- Thirty nine! Satoshi and Link answered, Link starring weirdly at Satoshi.
- Only? Denchu asked, incredulous.
- No, on the contrary, it’s great! Deshi said. With forty Skulltulas, you can get Bombchus.
- Satoshi, Denchu murmured, name all the places where you found the Skultullas!
- To the Kokiri forest, Zora’s Domain, Lon Lon Ranch, Dodongo’s Cavern…
- Great, I know where we can easily find Skulltulas!
- Where at?
- Death Mount!

And here is our team, venturing on the field, to search for Gold Skulltulas at Death Mount.
Once arrived on the place, they hesitated, aware of the dangerous falling rocks.

- Link, you have a shield, but us… we only have our bravery! Denchu hesitated.
- You’re right; I don’t want you to run a risk… Just tell me where the Gold Slulltullas are and I’ll come back with it!
- No way! Satoshi, Denchu and Deshi shouted.
- We’ll come with you… Started Denchu
- … And no matter the tracks we’ll meet! Satoshi continued.
- … Are we a team or not? Deshi finished.
- All right, stay close to me so that I can protect you with my shield! Link said, bucked up.

All of them came closer to Link, to the great pleasure of Deshi and Denchu – even if she would never admit it –.
They climbed up the mount and Denchu – red as was humanly possible – wandered from the band as she thought there was no danger… Huge mistake.
A rock fell on her and Link didn’t react in time. Denchu nearly happened to be squashed, but the rock exploded in smithereens a few feet above her head. Only a handful of stones redounded to her.

- Are you all right?! Asked a stranger.
- Yes, I’m right, more frightened than hurt… I thank yo… TAKESHI?!
- Indeed, it’s my name… And you’re… quite familiar to me…

~*~

- Oh man, if she maintains that she isn’t red, I’ll become bonze… What’s great with being tanned is that you can’t tell if we blush! Deshi guaranteed Link.
- But… Gerudos are already bonze, given that they took an abstinence vow!
- Shh! Never contradict a Gerudo! I have a different point of view than my fellow. By the way, Gerudos are known for not having rules… And stop talking, just watch the show and let that be an example to you and your Princess!
- A Gerudo who likes men, a hectic Kokiri, a warrior Hylian girl… What a team!
- Link… You’ll never learn if you don’t listen at the good time… You don’t want to become like Satoshi, do you?
- Excuse me… Link apologizes, looking at the Kokiri who scratched his right ear.

Takeshi was helping the young Hylian girl to stand up. He was shirtless, with a dirty and tore pants and a lot of Goron tattoos covered his body. Our elf had difficulties not to look at him directly in the eyes!

- So, what are you doing near the Death Mountain? Takeshi finally asked.
- We search for Skulltulas, Denchu replied tit for tat.
- Oh…
- Those are spiders with an emblem on her back. We have to catch them all to save the cursed family, Denchu said with hoarse throat.
- Oh Ok! I saw one in the middle of the ropes tightened inside!
- Ok, let’s go, and we’ll return to the Kakariko Village to buy the Bombchus, Deshi interfered.

Once arrived in the middle of Goron village, where the Golden Skulltulas were waiting for them, Deshi and Denchu froze.

- Shall we go, girls? Takeshi asked.
- I… we don’t have to be five to capture a Skulltula… One person is sufficient! Denchu answered.
- Totally agree with Denchu! Deshi continued.
- Hun huh… Takeshi doubted.
- MOUHAAAAHAHAHAHA!! They are afraid of Skulltulas!! Hurray for the warriors!! Satoshi burst out laughing.

By way of answer, Deshi dealt him a blow on the head.

- It sounds empty… Denchu noticed.
- The contrary would have surprised me! Deshi ensured.

Takeshi and Link didn’t say a word and jump into the action. They fetched the Skulltula without difficulties and came back to the girls – Satoshi were still lying down – to show them the emblem.

- What glorious men!! They act in silence and with efficiency… with sex-appeal moreover! Deshi proclaimed.
- Deshi, try to fit your role and you Gerudo character, please! Denchu grumbled.
- But I fit my role, look!

Deshi showed her the gold emblem she took back from Link and Denchu disconcerted.
When they joined the field, another problem was posed: locomotion mean.

- As much as Satoshi didn’t take that space, I think we would need another horse, Denchu said to the Gerudo.
- There aren’t any horses in the Goron village… Only stones!
- All right, all right! Denchu got worked up. We’ll have to reallocate each one on the horses!
- Of course no! Only Takeshi to reallocate. Well, Satoshi chose Epona for the ride…
- No, he didn’t choose! It’s Link who put him over because he is still unconscious!!
- Anyway, Satoshi has a locomotion mean… And it was me who was in charge of him during the all way. Cuddle starts to tire, but Louxor is vigorous! So it’s obvious that Takeshi rides with you.
- Grmblmgrmlblmgrmblm.
- I love your spirit of sharing! Deshi smiled.
- Er, may I can add that on the sharing point, you’re quite…
- Youshutupcausei’mplayingthego-between! Deshi blowed in one breath.

Fanart

That’s how Takeshi had – for his great pleasure – Denchu as her travel companion, under the malicious look of Deshi…
Staying as helpful as forwarding with Denchu, he helped the young lady to climb on Louxor.

- Get your hands out of me!! Denchu winced.
- … Sorry, Takeshi apologized while he moved his hand away Denchu’s belt. But as I’m not very good in horse riding, I try to hang on something…
- Well, find another handhold… She sighed.

Denchu’s complexion wasn’t pale as usual. It was as red as the blood she felt boiling on her head.
It’s hardly been an hour since she is with Takeshi, and she already starts blaming him… Link thought.
As one goes along, Denchu became quiet and “soft” – not to say docile –. Takeshi even suggested her taking Louxor’s bride to let her taking a rest.
Denchu toppled over Takeshi’s athletic arms that quite lulled her.

- Here we are! Link pointed out.
- The c-cemetery? Deshi swallowed.
- Exactly! This is where the Shadow Temple is, but before, we have to hollow some grave.
- To holloooooow some graave…? Deshi mumbled, voice going hoarse and wan tan.
- To search for useful treasure! Link continued without paying attention to the Gerudo.
- In fact… To be honest, living dead and I aren’t… really friends.
- But we must go together, otherwise we will get lost! Link declared.

Deshi took a deep breathe and jumped first into a grave. Link, after waking up Satoshi, decided to follow her, Denchu behind – who were staying near Takeshi – when the grave closed up, leaving Deshi alone.

A horrible scream came out from the cave. Link and Denchu, panicked, tried to open the grave, when Takeshi interfered:

- Leave it to me!

Link and Denchu complied, and the young man got his Goron hammer out to hit on the crypt door. Two trials later, the door couldn’t resist anymore.
Once broke, it let a passage for the team to come into and help the Gerudo. They saw her, as white as Deshi in real life, petrified.
They didn’t know what was going on, when they caught sight of a shadow who slipped behind her friend.
Straight away, Link and Denchu bended their bow in front of the figure, but those one were caught wrong footed.

- I felt your presence before you ever enter in the grave…

Deshi started to faltered few words:

- I-it’s the g-ghost of… I don’t know who, heeeeere! She said, pointing the silhouette that moved toward her.

The figure was very close to her face, so that she can feel his breath – and so she could deduce that it he was anything but a living dead –.
A ray of sun lighted up a part of his face. He had red eyes, as red as Deshi’s and small elf ears.

- Do I scare you that much? He murmured to Deshi.

When she recognized his voice, the stupor turned into wonderment.
More curious than scared, she tried to pierce trough him, to assimilate his features. She raised her hand to get to his face, but she dwelled upon his ears she tickled for fun.

- Stop it!! The unknown got annoyed.
- What can I do about it? You’re so sweet with those ears! She answered.
- Pfff, you haven’t changed a bit…
- I’ll take that as a compliment.

Takeshi stepped forward:

- Toya! Wow, you look tremendous! Hey, you have the same ears as Denchu!
- By the way, did you notice how better we hear? She replied.
- Yeah, but I don’t need to use it to hear Deshi coming… Toya added with a pert smile on his face.
- Garbage! The Gerudo protested. I’ve gained in agility since I’m here.
- It remains to be seen…
- Well, you should have a look into your right pocket! She taunted him.

Toya ran his hand through his pocket, and when he bunched it up… a beautiful white butterfly came out, flying to freedom.

- My purse!!!

Deshi had a radiant smile on her face and she was bouncing a little leather bag in her hand.

- Deshi, give it back to me! Right now!!

The Gerudo pouted and threw her loot to the owner.

- Hmmm… For only five blue rubies and ten green rubies…
- Hey, aren’t we here for something special, are we? Denchu got impatient.
- I guess you’re looking for the Shadow temple, Toya said as he replaced his precious savings on his pocket.
- Indeed, could you show us the way?
- The real Link… How fun! Toya smiled.
- Yeah, I didn’t thought he would be that tall.
- Well, can we pass that temple or not?!
- Hmm, correction, Denchu: they pass the temple. We wait here…
- But…
- Have you forgotten this fuck**g temple? And the creatures?
- I’m not a-afraid! Denchu answered, with a little palsy on her voice.
- She is right, Toya said. Stay here. Link, Takeshi and I will pass this temple.
- And me? Satoshi asked.
- You… well… protect the girls.

The three boys went into the dark room, leaving the two young ladies and the small Kokiri.
Once went up in the surface, they got a lot out of the shining afternoon. Satoshi lied on the grass and felt immediately asleep – “what a protector…” –.
Denchu used this opportunity to carve some arrows whereas Deshi sharpened her blade.

- Though, we could have joined them, couldn’t we?
- We would have been useless, Denchu.

Deshi looked at her friend and jumped with grace next to her.

- Tell me… Aren’t you just worried for our Goron friend?
- Garbage… Denchu went pale. I’m just worrying for everybody.
- Mmmyeah… Till then, you weren’t that unhappy to be stick to him during the horseback ride!
- I was exhausted, Deshi!
- Yeah, sure you were… By the way, we have to find Kasumi!
- No, I saw her at Lake Hylia.
- At lake Hylia?! But we have time to see her! Deshi exclaimed.
- What about Satoshi?
- We take him, what a stupid question! And we’ll come back to see Toya and Takeshi near the temple in one hour, as if nothing happened.

Ok… but Kasumi won’t be that happy, Denchu thought.
Thus, our friends went on Lake Hylia’s road while the boys – minus Satoshi – were trying to free the Sage from the Shadow Temple.
